Campgrounds around the Kirishima area
Ebino Plateau Camp Village at 1200m is pleasantly cool even in summer. In addition to family camping, it is a great hub for hiking Mt. Karakuni and other trails. In addition to the Kirishima foothills, there are plenty of campgrounds in surrounding districts too.

Experience an active volcano
The Kirishima mountains have a plethora of climbing trails for the enjoyment of everyone from beginners to veterans, starting with Mt. Karakuni and Mt. Takachihonomine. Hot springs are certainly a great benefit of volcanic activity. At the foot of the Kirishima area are a number of highly original onsen. Refresh body and soul with a relaxing dip.
There are numerous hot springs in the area, including Kirishima Hot Spring Resort, Shirotori Onsen, Shinyu Onsen and Kurinodake Onsen Hot Spring.
